A Look Back at a Landmark Year for Training
2025 was a landmark year for Aico. As we celebrated our 35th anniversary, we also achieved a record-breaking year for training – expanding our education offering further than ever before.
Education has always been central to our mission of making homes safer. This year, we delivered 2,937 training sessions across the UK, engaging over 20,000 professionals from across the housing and electrical sectors. From apprentices to housing providers, distributors to contractors, our training continues to raise standards and build confidence across the industry.
Expanding the Scope of Training

While fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) protection remains at the heart of our work, 2025 highlighted the growing demand for training that addresses wider housing challenges. Courses on managing damp and mould, smart monitoring technologies and healthy homes saw a strong uptake, reflecting a sector-wide shift towards connected home technology, indoor air quality and resident wellbeing.
This expansion demonstrates how our training is evolving to meet the changing needs of housing providers and residents, ensuring the industry is equipped with the knowledge to deliver safer, healthier living environments.
Expert Installer: The Cornerstone
Our flagship Expert Installer programme remained the most delivered course, with over 1,300 sessions in 2025. FIA CPD accredited, it continues to be the foundation of safer homes, providing regulation-aligned training that equips thousands of professionals each year with the skills to install domestic fire and CO systems correctly and confidently.
The CPD accreditation ensures that learners benefit from recognised, structured development, reinforcing our commitment to education and professional standards across the industry.
City & Guilds: Raising Standards Nationwide
A standout achievement of our 35th year was the continued growth of the City & Guilds Assured Domestic Fire & CO Alarm Systems qualification. Since its launch in 2022, the course has expanded year on year, and in 2025 we delivered 120 sessions – its highest number to date.
This full-day programme builds on Expert Installer knowledge and offers hands-on assessment, design competency and industry-recognised accreditation. Its success reflects the industry’s appetite for advanced qualifications that raise professional standards nationwide, and it has quickly established itself as a benchmark for contractors, housing providers and compliance teams.
Supporting the Supply Chain
Additional CPD accredited courses also played a vital role in 2025. Specialist programmes for distributors, apprentices and carbon monoxide awareness ensured that knowledge and skills were shared across the entire supply chain – from wholesalers to the next generation of installers. By supporting every stage of the housing and safety industry, we are helping to create a consistent culture of best practice.
Alongside these programmes, we introduced our new Gold Standard and Platinum Partner initiatives. These initiatives recognise organisations and individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to training, compliance and best practice. By setting clear benchmarks and rewarding excellence, they provide a pathway for partners to showcase their dedication to safer homes and continuous professional development.
A Legacy of Education
Looking back, 2025 was not only a record-breaking year in numbers but a landmark in the evolution of our training. It demonstrated how education can drive higher standards, support innovation and prepare the industry for the challenges ahead. Training has become one of the most powerful ways we fulfil our founding mission: to make homes safer.
Looking Ahead
As we move into 2026, we remain committed to expanding training capacity nationwide, evolving content to meet new regulations, supporting the Connected Home and further developing our City & Guilds programme.
We would like to thank everyone who trained with us in 2025. Together, we are building safer homes and increasing knowledge and skills with a more confident workforce for the future.
