Celebrating Excellence Across the Social Housing Sector

Taking place at The ICC in Birmingham on the 16th April 2026, the Aico Community Awards is an exclusive industry event celebrating the award finalists. The evening brings together colleagues, partners and industry leaders across the UK to celebrate outstanding projects, inspiring individuals and innovative initiatives that are improving lives and communities.
New for 2026: The People’s Choice Award

We’re excited to introduce our brand new, interactive category: the People’s Choice Award. Voted for live on the night, we’re inviting our guests to take an active part in recognising excellence and celebrate the work that truly connects with the audience.
There’s still time to enter the 12 award categories open to individuals or groups across the UK.
Group Categories:
Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative – This award recognises suppliers to the social housing industry or social housing providers who have gone the extra mile and have been committed to supporting the wider communities they serve.- Neighbourhood Transformation – This award recognises a social housing provider that has completed or has an ongoing project to transform and regenerate their local community to make their area a better place to live.
- Resident Engagement – This award recognises the best engagement with residents in the housing sector and puts communication and residents’ views at the forefront of their decision-making.
- College Initiative of the Year – This award celebrates the best and most innovative initiative among the UK further education and sixth form colleges to promote the best practices and support student development.
- Sustainability Project of the Year – Working towards a more sustainable future and way of powering and building homes will be the key to relieving some of the environmental impacts of our current ways of doing things on the planet, with the aim of being carbon zero. We are looking to reward organisations and collaborators who are working on or implementing sustainable solutions for a greener future in social housing.
- Best Distributor Community Initiative – This award is dedicated to distributors who have gone the extra mile and have been committed to supporting the wider communities they serve.
- Collaborative Partnership – An example of strong partnerships across the industry and local communities.
Individual Categories:
Lifetime Achievement Award – We are looking for someone who has lived and breathed social housing or fire safety during their career. They will have driven change both in the organisation in which they have worked and in their sector.- Woman in Fire Safety Award – Celebrating the contribution of women to the fire industry in the UK. Entrants can nominate any woman working within the fire industry who has gone above and beyond in their role to make a difference over the last 12 months.
- Rising Star Award – We are looking to reward the special newcomer or junior team member who is making a difference in their organisation, bringing improvements, and working towards positive change in the industry.
- Electrical Contractor of the Year – We are looking to recognise an electrical contractor who has completed the Expert Installer Training and engaged with the Installer Community, has provided exceptional support, and demonstrated outstanding professionalism, innovation, or service contribution to a project or contract.
- Inspirational Colleague of the Year – This award will recognise an individual who goes above and beyond to deliver a high quality of work that exceeds the call of duty. This could be someone who has put innovation or creativity at the heart of what they do, or someone who has shown unstoppable determination.
