Aico, in association with Shropshire Youth Association (SYA), is thrilled to announce the return of its Kids Summer Club this August, at Aico’s headquarters in Oswestry.
SYA, a registered charity, supports the establishment and sustainability of youth clubs in Shropshire. SYA operate their own youth clubs, as well as manage youth projects for other organisations.
Aico in the Community was created to support local communities and make a positive impact. Aico’s free Summer Club offers a fun and educational experience for Year 6 and will take place across the week of August 19th.
Claire Purcell, Community Engagement & Fundraising Manager for SYA, commented “The team at SYA are delighted to be partnering with Aico once again for the Kids Club this Summer. Kids Club is a great way of keeping young people engaged, active and having fun during the holidays while under the support and supervision of qualified SYA Youth Workers. There will be a programme of fun activities including arts and crafts, dance, sports and food-based activities drawn from the extensive SYA library of equipment. We are very grateful to Aico for their generous contribution to local young people.”
The programme will feature a variety of activities designed to entertain and educate children, allowing them the opportunity to socialise with others. Participants can look forward to hands-on pancake making sessions, interactive games, arts and crafts, and outdoor sports. The schedule also includes a trip to the local leisure centre for an inflatable aqua challenge, followed by a disco at Aico’s headquarters. These activities are aimed at fostering creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
Aico’s Summer Club will be led by experienced and qualified club leaders from SYA, supported by friendly volunteers and Aico colleagues, all of whom are safeguard trained and DBS checked.
“We are excited to be hosting the Kids Summer Club again at Aico, in association with SYA, for a fun-filled week during the summer holidays. The aim of these programmes is to create a safe and fun environment for local children to make new friends and develop new skills both socially and practically”, said Jane Pritchard, Community Liaison at Aico.
The Summer Club welcomes local Year 6 children, born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013. Interested parents can register their child by visiting Aico’s website at www.aico.co.uk/in-the-community/aico-kids-club. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
