This December, Aico brought the magic of the holidays to Shropshire primary school students with a series of festive film screenings in their state-of-the-art auditorium at their Centre of Excellence, in Oswestry.

Throughout the month, Aico opened its doors to schools from across the county, offering a unique opportunity for young minds to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of Christmas classics. Nine local primary schools and colleges attended, bringing 500 pupils to enjoy films ranging from the mischievous antics of ‘The Grinch’, to the heartwarming adventures of ‘Home Alone’. To sweeten the experience, each pupil received a chocolate selection box to take home.

Aico’s auditorium typically utilised for presentations and conferences, transforms into a cinema experience for the young moviegoers. With its spacious seating for up to 116 individuals and a 4-meter projector screen, the auditorium is equipped with a powerful 4K projector that brings the holiday spirit to life in vivid detail.

Clare Frost, from Whittington Primary School attended on the 14th of December and commented, “Once again Aico have supported the children of Whittington. Our KS2 classes all visited Aico for a ‘Christmas-themed movie day’ and we all had the best time.  The work they do in the community is truly outstanding. The Year 5 and 6 classes were even heard breaking out into song in the movie room.

A huge thank you to everyone at Aico for always supporting us and for the Christmas presents they gave out at the end of the movie. I wish all companies could have the same ethos and support local schools like Aico do. “

Aico’s Community Liaisons, Laura Opechowska and Jane Pritchard, diligently organise and coordinate these events, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participating schools. Jane Pritchard commented “This initiative is creating memorable moments for children during the festive season. We’re thrilled to share the joy of Christmas with our local schools and provide pupils with a chance to experience the magic of the movies.”

As Christmas approaches, Aico’s festive film screenings are sure to create lasting memories for Shropshire’s young students.
